Total Time
45 minutes
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef (or sub ground turkey, pork, chicken, or even a combination)
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
2 teaspoons Kosher salt
Black pepper to taste
Directions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together until well combined.
-
To taste for seasoning, heat a small pan on medium heat. Form a small patty and cook on both sides until browned and the internal temperature reaches 155°F for beef or 165°F for all other proteins. Let cool for a few minutes and then taste for seasoning. If needed, add more salt, pepper, or Italian seasoning to your taste.
-
Form the rest of the mixture into meatballs (about the size of golf balls) and arrange meatballs on a parchment or foil-lined, rimmed baking sheet. Place meatballs in the oven. Optional: To retain moisture and keep them from sticking to the pan, pour about 1 cup of water around them before baking.
-
Bake for 30 minutes or until the internal temperature is 155°F for beef or or 165°F for all other proteins. Serve as is, with your favorite red sauce, or use in a sandwich.
