We’d like to provide some clarity on these matters to ensure you have the information you need:
What does New Seasons Market’s staff compensation and benefits look like?
For nearly 25 years, New Seasons Market has offered industry leading wages and benefits, including many perks found nowhere else in the grocery industry… and more than 94 percent of our staff qualify for our full benefits package, including robust healthcare and flexible paid time off, as well as guaranteed biannual wage increases for hourly staff every six months. We also understand there may be some misunderstandings about our overall wages. With an average wage of $20.75/hour for non-management staff (including NSLU members) and a value of $8.95/hour in benefits, our commitment to offering competitive compensation and benefits surpasses industry standards.
Can you share an update in your conversations with NSLU?
New Seasons Market has consistently met with NSLU at all mutually agreed-upon times, adhering and responding to their topics, and the two organizations have reached sixteen tentative agreements. We are eager to finalize a fair and sustainable contract for not only our business viability, but especially for the members of NSLU. To advance discussions, we recently proposed a neutral, third-party, federal mediation service, which we believe will bring us closer to an agreement. At this time, the NSLU has declined to participate in mediation.
