Chocolate Date Dessert Bars

Healthy Date Bites
Whether you’re craving a midday sweet or a healthy dessert, these chocolate date bars deliver—and all you need are four simple ingredients to make them!
  • Serving Size

    12

  • Total Time

    30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 12 Medjool dates

  • 1/3 cup peanut butter or nut butter of your choice

  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts of your choice

  • 4 ounces chocolate chips of your choice

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

  • Flaky sea salt for garnish

Directions

  1. Line a small baking dish or tray with parchment paper.
  2. Using a small, sharp knife, carefully slice each date lengthwise and remove the pits.
  3. Place sliced dates closely together on the parchment-lined tray. Place another sheet of parchment paper on top and use a rolling pin to flatten them into an even layer.
  4. Spread the nut butter evenly over the flattened dates, then sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring between each round until smooth.
  6. Pour the melted chocolate over the dates, spreading it evenly to coat the top. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  7. Place the pan in the fridge for about 10 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
  8. Once firm, remove from the pan and slice into bars. Enjoy!
